Registration reports for plant protection products

The BVL publishes registration reports on plant protection products since July 2009. There are two formats, depending on the date of application.

Old registration reports

This format applies to applications submitted before June 2011. These reports were compiled for the hearing of the expert committee. They reflect the present assessment situation and present the BVL's intended decision. Since the reports are not updated following the hearing, it is possible that the decisions actually taken might deviate from the reports. The reports will be published in German. They comprise the authorisation report itself and the assessment report from the BVL. For organisational reasons they do not include the corresponding assessment reports of the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI), the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) and the German Federal Environmental Agency (UBA). According to the Freedom of Information Act (Informationsfreiheitsgesetz) and the Environmental Information Act (Umweltinformationsgesetz) they can be obtained on payment of a fee from the corresponding authorities or from the BVL.

New registration reports

The reports are published in this form when the application was submitted after June 2011, thus according to Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009. In this case, the assessment reports drawn up by the BVL, JKI, BfR and UBA are integrated in the general report. These reports also include the final authorisation certificate from the BVL. They will not be updated in the event of any later notification of amendment. They are published in English (except for the authorisation certificate).

Following the authorisation of a plant protection product, the authorisation holder can apply to extend the authorisation to additional fields of application. Furthermore, the authorisation holder or other applicants can apply to extend the authorisation of an already authorised plant protection product to minor uses ("off-label uses"). In such cases, the BVL draws up supplementary registration reports in the form of separate documents.

In some reports details may be blacked out. This is the case when it comes to details on the composition of a plant protection product which are classified as confidential according to Article 63 (2) of Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009.
