ITS Food Online 2024 is just around the corner! Check out our programme!

BVL‘s International Training for Safer Food is a virtual event aimed at staff working in public authorities of non-EU countries handling issues related to food safety. In 2024 it will focus on residues and contaminants. Have a look at BVL's tasks around residues and contaminants below.

When?	26th to 29th of February 2024 for the Eastern Hemisphere (from 08h00 to 12h00 UTC+1) 04th to 07th of March 2024 for the Western Hemisphere (from 16h00 to 20h00 UTC+1)

What will be the focus of ITS Food Online 2024?	ITS Food Online 2024 will focus on residues and contaminants. Check out our programme.
Who will be speaking?	Experts from German BVL and other authorities will give detailed insight into the European and German legal framework as well as their current work on the topic.
What are the costs for attending?	The training is free of charge.

We have a few participation requirements. Please check them out below.

Requirements for participation

You are a government official engaged in food safety/public health.
You have a background in biology, chemistry, food chemistry, medicine, veterinary medicine or other relevant discipline.
You already have comprehensive professional experience in food safety and/or risk management.
You have a very good command of the English or French language (upper intermediate level). Working language during the training will be English. French interpretation will be provided for the second round.

About ITS Food

The International Training for Safer Food (ITS Food) is an international training on food safety risk management.

ITS Food provides you with in-depth knowledge on food safety as well as risk and crisis management in Germany and the European Union. The training will cover relevant aspects which are crucial to a comprehensive risk management for safe food, feed and consumer products.

The intention of this training programme is to increase knowledge and foster mutual understanding on food safety risk management amongst participants from public food safety bodies. Practitioners from competent authorities, official laboratories and research institutions will share their insight and experience in order for participants to increase their level of expertise, share and identify best practice in their field of work, check out various tools for the different tasks and take home knowledge to share with colleagues. Participants will enjoy high-level expertise and hands-on technical exchange and have the opportunity to build new networks with colleagues from around the globe.

Our speakers and chairs are experienced experts from the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) and its partner institutions in Germany and beyond. The experts will also be available during breaks to meet and exchange with participants.

We intend to address relevant aspects to establish and maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date risk management for safe food, feed and consumer products around the globe.
