Pablo Serrano is currently Head of Innovation & Research / Biotechnology at the German Pharmaceutical Industry Association (BPI) .
He studied biology at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany. He combined his PhD in applied plant physiology with research work in Brazil.
Following his PhD, Pablo Serrano took on assignments as editor for various professional publications, including Biospektrum, Transkript and European Biotechnology News.
He then managed the business of an agency specializing in communications and PR work for the life science sector.
This activity brought him to the German Biotechnology Industry Organisation. There, Pablo Serrano built up the office during the founding phase and subsequently took on a wide range of tasks as senior manager and press spokesman.
